We don’t store your annotations or data—everything stays in the URL. No tracking, no cookies, no ads (hopefully forever).
FAQs
1. Enter the webpage link you want to annotate, then click ‘Annotate’.
2. You’ll be redirected to a new page where you can switch between 'Browse' and 'Comment'. Clicking on Comment brings up a pin cursor with which you can leave comments on the webpage. You can only annotate the page you’ve entered; to annotate a different page, return to this page and enter the new URL.
3. Use the 'Copy read-only link' to share your annotations with others. They can view them without making any changes.
4. Copy the URL from the address bar to share an editable version of the annotations, allowing others to collaborate and continue where you left off.
Everything is stored in the URL! We compress all data—including the webpage URL, viewport width, and annotations. Nothing is saved on our servers.
1. It only works on pages that allow iframe embedding, which is typically the case for most webpages under development.
2. If the page you're annotating changes, the tool does not update or adapt to those changes. Your annotations remain based on the original version.
3. Every single page you want to annotate needs to have a new URL generated, as annotations are stored directly in the URL itself.
4. Large URLs can be an issue, but you can always use a hyperlink to make sharing easier.
It's free, so don't complain - just make the most of it! 😜
